The paleo diet is a bit extreme for most people to stay on for a lifetime, plus there is the possibility of other issues related to such a high-protein diet. I prefer a more moderate 40-30-30 (carbs-protein-fat) type of diet for long-term eating and health. Milk is mainly an issue for young children and anyone who is lactose-intolerant.

Thanks Sheri. Will try Kashi bars.

As for adjusting insulin doses, I'll consult my doctor about it if it's possible on my case. Thanks for giving me the idea though

It depends. Some granola bars have a pretty high glycemic effect (causing your blood sugars to spike first and drop later) and a lot of calories. Have you tried Kashi bars? They're whole grain and have a lower immediate impact on blood sugars. You may also try adjusting insulin doses to avoid needing a bedtime snack altogether. Sheri

Hello Dr. Sheri,

I just read this post about your book for Latinos with diabetes and I would like to ask if you could let me know when it is translated into spanish.
I have a blog about diabetes (www.curardiabetes.com) with 23,000 visitors a month and I could mention your book there or agree on some collaboration.
Recently I started the same blog in english (www.healing-diabetes.com) with 2,000 visitors per month and growing, just in case you are interested to appear there as well.

Have a nice weekend
Sincerely,
Carlos Gonzalez (Charlie)
